Homeless signs

After the idea about the hand and the cup etc. I started paying more attention to the signs homeless people held up.Researching this on Google.com I came across some interesting ones, as seen bellow.



                                     

After the fire!

After my experiment on burning the matress I srted looking into what we see when we come in contact with a homless person.
I concluded with a hand of some sort looking for help,or reaching out for money.

                                      

                  

                              I begain trying to construct a hand with a cup begging for money.

                      
After making the small wire hand ,Led into the idea of making a extra large hand with an extra large cup.
This idea didnt last too long because i didnt want to dive straight in to making a finished piece just yet, without doing a bit more research.

                                                        Although I did get some done in creating this piece.!

The fire

Moving on from looking at places where homeless people slept,i moved to looking at what was between them and the concrete.

    I first thought of mattress, because i doubted the fact of there being a full on king size bed at the side of the street!
 So...
I decided to go a bit mad and experiment a bit !

                                                         By playing with matches : ) .

                                          The textures that came through were really interesting.

                                             This one looks somewhat like a face. ^

Progression of ideas

 After the visit to the park i started expanding my idea of a barrier in society.I started looking at poverty and researching around the city of where homeless people lived etc.

Urban Environment

I have created this blog to document the work i'm doin on my current project.I was delighted when i got my brief. Straight away i started gettin different ideas as the brief covered such a large scale.

I first started looking at urban decay,which led me to the peoples park where a took shots of natural decay.

This I thought was quit a nice shot as it has a mix of both nature and urbanisation.This was one of the first shots I took in the park.I then moved on to the rose bushes which I found were really perfect in there contrast with one another between beauty and decay.

As I was walking through the park i saw these beatiful old walls which had there beauty stripped from them by the construction of these high fences above.This led me to the idea of a restraint or a barrier on/in society.
